Half venomous rage, half haunting grace
She might be new as a solo artist, but she is far from green. Through previous bands and her work as a session bassist, Ruena [roo-na] has performed all across the UK and Europe and played major festivals such as Glastonbury, Download, Boomtown and Rock for People. Playing live is where she truly comes alive and is known for her dynamic, engaging performances.

“Though it feels weird to consider myself a ‘new’ artist when I’ve been in music for so long, I believe there is a right time for everything, and for me that time is now. All my experience to this point has been like a Rocky montage preparing me for this - and I couldn’t be more ready. ”
Her cathartic 5 track EP was released on 28th November 2025 with three singles from it ‘Paraffin’, ‘Just Because It Breathes’  and ‘Leech’ all receiving radio play on BBC Introducing, plus ‘The Tide’ being added to Apple’s ‘New In Rock’ Playlist. Ready to bring her raw, captivating energy to the stage - things are heating up for this emerging artist.

PARAFFIN - MUSIC VIDEO

"We love it - the energy, wow!
Expertly executed with a powerful message."
BBC Introducing East Midlands

From guttural screams to soft, ethereal melodies, Ruena’s vocals pack an impressive range. Her honest and raw story telling is weaved between nu-metal guitars and stomping bass lines to create a genre-blending sound.

Tackling hard-hitting subjects like mental abuse, and body dysmorphia - she doesn’t shy away from difficult conversation. “Music can help heal people - whatever you’ve been through, there will be a song that helps you process it. If my music can do that for someone, that’s the most important thing for me. Sometimes it’s enough just to know you’re not alone”
